Prayer During the Assembly

Lord God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit You inspired Saint John Baptist de La Salle with the ministry of providing a human and Christian education to the young, especially the poor.

From one commitment to another You guided him towards the Brothers and the poor. His example of faith continues to inspire thousands of Brothers and Lay People to respond to the call of the young and their needs.

As we gather at this International Young Brothers Assembly we remember the words of Jesus, “I came so that they may have life and have it more abundantly.” Lord Jesus, only you can give us the life of the Father so that we can share it joyfully to all ends of the earth.

We ask that You fill us with your Spirit during this time of grace You have given us.

Be with us during our time of reflection so that with our hearts and minds focused on You, we may leave this gathering to serve the young most in need with a spirit of faith and zeal.

Help us discover the joy of fraternity, draw closer together as Brothers, and unite our efforts with all that form the Lasallian family so that we may respond to the challenges the world presents today. Give us the courage to persist and enliven the mission You have entrusted to us.

We ask this through the intercession of Mary, our mother, Saint John Baptist de La Salle, and all our holy and Blessed Brothers.

Amen.
