Isang mainit na pagbati sa inyong lahat!

On behalf of the Brothers and the Lasallian Family of the Lasallian East Asia District, I wish to welcome you warmly to the Sector of the Philippines.

There is a wonderful passage towards the end of Circular 466 on having hope for the future of the Institute, and I quote:

“We often fear for the future because we look back remembering past harvests and see that the current resources are not sufficient in number. Instead, why not look ahead learning from the fig tree to see the spring already present in the merciful actions of God… these signs of God’s mercy confirm the intuition that Jesus presents to us in the parable of the fig tree…  that what was dead seems to give signs of life. In spite of the winter apparent in certain regions, we cannot help but see the signs of life that God awakens in the entire Institute. We are called to be “sentinels of dawn”, active signs who cause the light to “come out like dawn”.

This gathering of Young Brothers from all over the world is a real sign of hope for the Institute. You are all “sentinels of dawn” carrying the light that is the Lasallian Mission to your own respective Districts and Regions. You will all be future Directors, heads of school, Visitors and I will not be surprised if, among you, will come our future Superior General.  So be kind to each other.

May the next 10 days be a time of renewal, a time of hope; may it be meaningful and, I pray, a lot of fun!
